One of the fastest ways you can achieve solid growth is by applying the "Set it and forget it" method.
If you're online 8% of the day (I know for some of us it's hard to pry away from the game for that long), or 80% of the day, one of the best things you can do is to keep your activity bars going... I like to tell my team to strive for five... So every time you log in and out, make sure that you're:
1.) Always working on upgrading your buildings
2.) Always maintaining or building your troop count
3.) Always farming for resources
4.) Always building traps
5.) Always researching
Of course, that's just a general guide... different players have different styles of base configuration, and some of the above will apply, and some will not... No matter what, though, make the game work for you in the time that you're not online... an active base is a growing base. It only takes a few minutes to log in and set your base to carrying out tasks while you're offline. It's one of the smartest ways that you can use the game effectively and to your benefit, and you'll quickly see results!
